Description
The
lathe model TS1500
has been conceived for the execution of drum, disc and
flywheel turning of cars, commercial vehicles and trucks.
It is also possible to turn heavy truck-drums with twin-tyres
mounted as the lathe is equipped with a strong-nose spindle head and
with a Ř 50 mm shaft, so that the tailstock is not needed.
All
these heterogeneous operations can be executed thanks to a versatile
machine, which works with a digital Inverter for the continuous
variation of spindle’s revolutions.
The working speed can be adjusted at any time, with regards
to the conditions of the drum (or disc) surface or to the vibrations
level; the working time can be optimized and all of this without
getting negative effects on the surface finishing . TS1500
can
also be supplied with the revolving carriage for the tapered working
of flywheels.
The
intermittent feeding
TS1500
makes
use of the by now tested intermittent feeding, which is directly
dependent on the spindle’s revolutions and it is adjustable
by the proper graduated knob from 0 to 0.5 mm/rev.
By
means of the intermittent feeding,
the cutting tool engrave concentric circles on the disc
surface (see picture). We
avoid in this way the formation of the classical spiral effect on
the disc surface which is the main responsible of the brake pad
radial shifting and the consequent braking problems.
The
same principle is used for the drum machining in order to avoid the
axial displacement of the brake shoes.
Structural
characteristics
-
The
lathe head is made from a cast iron structure and it is fixed at
the top of a very strong steel-welded structure.
-
The
spindle shaft is made of tempered and grinded steel.
-
The
tool-holder trolley, ground on its guideways, is made from a
cast iron structure.
